arum sans
ArumSans was designed over a 15 month period between February 2008 and May 2009. It began with a single lower-case a, which itself was an attempt to imitate the beauty of Jeremy Tankard's Enigma. I admired the sense of modernity which came out of that very low, flat horizontal bar, and the way it curved abruptly into the bowl.
Drawings of one entire weight were completed, then I began experimenting with other weights and italics.
ArumSans was an entrant in the 2009 Type Director's Club Typeface Design competition.
