Wayne Thompson

Fascinated by letters since he was a teenager, Wayne began with rub-down lettering and worked as a signwriter, photographer and journalist before settling into the design profession in the late 1980s. After 17 years in advertising agencies, Wayne now works full time as a type designer. Wayne’s long term aims are to always learn more about typography, and hopefully contribute an Aussie flavour to the world of type design.

His first type design was Dallas, released in 1997 by T-26. Since then, Wayne has designed more than 65 typefaces and currently retails fonts through MyFonts, T-26, Monotype Imaging, ITC Fonts and Veer among others. Wayne is 41 years old.

Stuart Brown

Stuart Brown is a UK-based designer and typographer who has been creating digital typefaces since his art college days in the mid-nineties. He is currently working as a freelance graphic designer in the north of England and is also developing a library of new fonts to be released commercially in the near future. He intends to return to Australia one day as a permanent resident.

Stuart designed the Neutraliser family, a versatile collection of geometric-based fonts with 24 styles. The Alternate styles are suitable for headline use and are complimented by the Sans and Serif styles suitable for setting small amounts of text. The Caps styles further allow for extra typographic variation within the family. The design and production of Neutraliser has taken around 12 months after taking original drawings made whilst the designer was travelling and working in Australia into Illustrator and then tweaked in Fontographer. The construction of Neutraliser‚s letterforms reflect the designers preoccupation with rationalising the alphabet according to a grid-based framework that is sympathetic to the calligraphic rhythms inherent in traditional typography.
