Gloria Jeans requested a custom-designed font which reflected their philosophy and hands-on involvement in fair-trade policies. Their agency worked with us to create the font, which was based on the proportions of Trade Gothic.
The aim was to create a font which appeared hand-drawn. The agency created some sample letterstyles using pen and ink, which we then used as a design basis for the font. To help in the creation of a made-by-hand appearance, the font included encoding which would automatically substitute alternate versions of each character.
