Australian Type Foundry offers services in graphic design, logos, branding and identity design. We also occasionally do art direction, creative direction and long document design.

Our graphic design process is based on a philosophy of simplicity. Starting with a good old pencil and sketchbook, teamed up with solid brand research of your market sector and competitors. From here, ideas are presented, refined and finalised in a collaborative and inclusive approach with you, the client.

We let our type do the talking. Good design cannot exist without good typography, so we put type at the centre of all design solutions. A finely tuned understanding of tone-of-voice, honed through 25+ years of experience, helps us to make your design individual and unique.

Graphic Designer Wayne Thompson 

After graduating from university, I worked as a signwriter and photographer before settling into the design profession. I realised early on that I had always been fascinated with letters, and I started to approach design and branding projects with type-focused solutions. In total, I spent 17 years as a Designer and Art Director. I have also taught design at the tertiary level for 15 years, which has made me a better creative! In 2019, I earned my Masters of Type Design postgraduate qualification from the University of Reading, Uk, the world’s most respected typography institution.
